FFECP ADOPT-A-SECTION
OF TOWHEE TRAIL PROGRAM
TowheeTrail@eastcobbpark.org
The goal of the Friends for the East Cobb Park's Towhee Trail Program is to restore
the native woodland habitat by removing non-native, invasive plants and
adding Georgia native plants to supplement the thriving population along
East Cobb Park’s
Towhee Trail.
The program provides individuals, groups and families an opportunity to adopt a
200 foot section along the trail and tend it, to include removal of non-native or
invasive plants, re-establish native tree and plant populations (bought by volunteers
or acquired through the Georgia Native Plant Society Rescue Program), remove trash
and workday debris. Fallen trees shall be left in place unless written permission
is given by Friends for the East Cobb Park, Inc. (FFECP) and Cobb County Parks, Recreation & Cultural
Affairs (CCPRCA). This is a great hands-on learning opportunity!
UPDATE: All sections are currently adopted but please email TowheeTrail@eastcobbpark.org if interested in future trail adoption opportunities.
