FFECP AMERICAN FLAG PROGRAM ... AN EXPRESSION OF PATRIOTISM
FlagProgram@eastcobbpark.org

The Flag Program gives East Cobb residents an opportunity to show their pride and love for our country. It demonstrates the neighborhood’s great patriotic spirit and at the same time, helps support the many family activities provided by the East Cobb Park.

Friends for the East Cobb Park invites you to join your friends and neighbors in displaying the American flag on five major holidays: Memorial Day (May 31), Independence Day (July 4), Labor Day (Sept  5), Veteran’s Day (Nov), and President’s Day (Feb).

WE DO ALL THE WORK FOR YOU!
Local Boy Scouts assist FFECP members, and their organization earns money as a result. We display and store the flags. The flags and the sleeves remain the property of the Friends for the East Cobb Park. There are no brackets or fixtures attached to your home, and, when not in use, the sleeve is capped and out of sight.

FRIENDS FOR THE EAST COBB PARK & BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA
This is a service and fundraising project of the Friends for the East Cobb Park, in conjunction with the Boy Scouts of America. The FFECP is a nonprofit volunteer-run organization focused on improving the park, its facilities and programs. A portion of the proceeds also supports Boy Scouts of America and the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). By participating in this project, your family also receives full park membership as a thank you for your support.

YOUR PARTICIPATION
A PVC plastic sleeve is placed in the ground approximately 3 feet from the curb. On the five designated holidays, a 3’ X 5’ United States flag, mounted on a 10-foot metal pole, is placed in the sleeve. The flag goes up at dawn and is taken down about sunset. For weekend holidays, the flag will remain up for the entire weekend.

FLAG PLAZA IN EAST COBB PARK
In conjunction with this project, Friends for the East Cobb Park is constructing a permanent memorial Flag Plaza located on the north end of the Park. Here, East Cobb citizens participating in the Flag Program, have the opportunity to make a donation to have their loved-ones memorialized on a placard in the plaza. Contact FFECP or Mike Voegtle for more information on the Flag Plaza.
